Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, a combination of science, alchemy, research, and development has led to the creation of Geokarst. Exclusive to The Luxury Bath Company, Geokarst is a superior high-performing blend of ancient dolomitic limestone and resin.
Limestone is incredibly durable, tactile, warm to the touch, and the purest of white. So why do we add resin? The resin helps to sustain the stone’s natural charms but also because it gives fantastic design flexibility. Click here to learn more about the benefits of Geokarst.
Stone baths were used by the Ancient Egyptians as far back as 2,000 BC, but while the designs and manufacturing process have developed beyond recognition, the sense of unadulterated luxury remains. The stone bath manufacturing process means they are moulded into softer lines in comparison with ‘traditional’ acrylic counterparts. The smooth surfaces and solidness of Geokarst create a high-impact tactile and visual statement for those wishing to have a designer style bathroom. Yes, stone baths and basins are aesthetically appealing, but they are highly practical too. They are built to last – strong and durable – but if damage does ever occur it can be polished out, rather than replacing the whole bath. The non-porous solid surface freestanding stone bath is easy to maintain and clean, but also naturally retains the heat of the water so you can enjoy warmer baths for longer, without the need for repeatedly adding hot water
Comfort is a priority for many of our stone bathtub customers. And yes, stone resin freestanding bathtubs are incredibly comfortable. Stone resin is lauded for being one of the most comfortable and luxurious materials to use. Of course, comfort is subjective, and our bathtubs have been designed with ergonomics in mind – to fit the body shape and provide a relaxing full body soak. The perfect way to unwind.

Yes, we have several freestanding baths and stone sinks designed specifically for small spaces. Our freestanding bath and natural stone sinks are made with the same guaranteed quality – just with smaller dimensions. While the bathroom space may be limited, the opportunity for luxury is not restricted.

Any home improvement or remodel – no matter which room you are tackling – requires accurate measurements of the space you are working with. A luxury bathroom renovation is no different.
The most luxurious bathrooms require meticulous planning. Using your smartphone or tablet, our industry leading Augmented Reality technology allows you to place images of The Luxury Bath Company’s products into your own bathroom. This gives you a real feel for how the products will look and how best to place them.
Be mindful of how the door opens into the bathroom, window placement, water connection and drainage points and take into account the wall finish you are measuring – an additional 5mm of tile could scupper your bathroom design. Our product descriptions provide the dimensions of the bathroom furniture and should be checked, and double checked, before you make a purchase.
No, but this is so you have complete control over your luxury bathroom interiors. Whether you desire wall mounted freestanding bath taps, a deck mounted, or a floorstanding shower mixer tap in chrome, brushed gold or black, you have full creative freedom. However, all freestanding baths purchased from The Luxury Bath Company are supplied with a fitted waste kit ready for installation. All our stone sink and freestanding baths are easy to fit, quality guaranteed and durable.
Freestanding stone baths do weigh more than acrylic baths, but still only the weight of an average adult. In most instances, reinforcing the bathroom floor is unnecessary as they are lightweight stone baths. However, if you have any concerns check the floor’s load bearing capacity before making a purchase.
Our product descriptions include the weight of the bath, but also remember to consider the weight of the water used to fill the tub. A rule of thumb is one litre equals one kilogram.
No, sorry! Our energy and focus is purely on being the best UK retail supplier of online luxury bathroom products. You’ll need to hire your own recommended and qualified bathroom fitting company or tradespeople to complete your bathroom transformation. We provide downloadable and detailed installation guides (found on the product pages) to help with the bathroom installation.
When you have invested in a luxury freestanding bath and washbasin, you will want to keep them looking their best – and so do we. The finish on our Geokarst bathroom product protects from all types of everyday sources of stains – hair dye, nail varnish, lipstick, crayons and juices. However, it’s still important to rinse with warm clean water after light daily use to prevent the build-up of residues – where your feet have rested and the soap residues from bathing and beauty products.
For a more thorough clean, use a non-abrasive bathroom or kitchen cleaner. Over time harsh abrasives can degrade natural stone, but it responds very well to natural detergents such as white vinegar or water with lemon. Bleach-based products can be used, but we’d rather you use more environmentally friendly options.
Relax! Your stone bath (or basin) is resilient to many types of damage, but accidents can and do happen. The good news is Geokarst baths are easily restored, and minor defects removed by a touch-up stick specifically made for natural stone resin products. For more pronounced damage, it is advisable to contact a professional to repair your bath.

MFC is a melamine-faced chipboard. It is the timber equivalent of Geokarst (our exclusive natural stone and resin blend). The natural raw material (FSC certified high-quality wood chip) is blended with a resin to make an incredibly strong, durable and waterproof material. Like Geokarst, it combines the raw material’s best characteristics and improves on them. Using MFC means we have absolute control over quality and achieve consistent luxury bathroom brilliance.
The technique we use for making the joints of our custom bathroom furniture is called the ‘double dowel and glue system’, a time honored method used by skilled cabinet makers. Holes are drilled into two pieces of wood and the dowel passes through them and connects them. Adhesive and clamps are applied and the furniture left to align and dry. It’s a time consuming process but the results speak for themselves – a superior holding power above and beyond screws. Have you ever wondered why your grandparents’ furniture remains intact beyond the life of your factory made furniture? This is the reason.
There are several reasons why we have gone for this option. We are passionate about helping our customers achieve their bathroom design goals, and we do this by encouraging creative freedom with the variety of Morley options available. If we pre-made your order, it would delay dispatch. This way we can guarantee the next day delivery of bathroom furniture. It also means your purchases are easier to move and store without risk of damage if your property is hard to access or your bathroom renovation is behind schedule.
Absolutely! Our Morley bathroom furniture comes with concise instructions for assembly, and the carcasses are delivered pre-made to ensure they have a guaranteed rigid structure for easy installation. The fascias, handles and legs need assembling. However, we recommend you hire a professional fitter for the job if the reality of your DIY skills do not match the fitting skills required!
Relax, we supply them and the fittings are strong enough to hold up to 240kg. However, if you are fixing the cabinets to a stud wall, you will need the appropriate hardware and fittings for the job in hand – if in doubt about whether the walls can support the furniture, please, always seek the advice of a professional.
Who are we to dictate what you can keep in your luxury bathroom storage? There is a central shelf in the tallboy that cannot be moved, but other than that you have liberty to move the shelves to meet your requirements in both the tallboy and the Morley wall cabinet.
The Morley collection has been designed with easy-care maintenance and hygiene in mind and as such has very few recesses for dirt to be trapped. The carcass, counterop and fascias are made with a moisture resistant core and a finish of superior thickness (varies between components between 18mm to 22mm) and only needs a wipe with your favourite eco-friendly cleaning products. There is no need to use harsh and abrasive chemicals.
